An invitation to dance

I sit in a quiet house with a view of the ocean and gentle music playing next to me. I look down at the flickering wick of the candle which has been lit hundreds of times before.

There is a plethora of space around me, what is seemingly different about where I find myself in this moment is that the sense of spaciousness is full – not physically, but rather with an energy that is calling, pulling, and now and then forcefully pushing me along. I close my eyes and I can see the visual of how this exact moment plays out; my physical form is tiny in comparison to the space surrounding me, it’s not a scary space yet it carries a strong sense of mystery. From the front, there is a ribbon gently pulling me, she dances sweetly and carries with her the warmth of encouragement. This engagement softens me and ignites my unruly inquisitiveness from which I pry my awareness forward without offering too much of myself. Much like how we become accepting of our emotions by gently feeling into them and allowing them to pass through – I ripple closer to the vastness of mystery until there is a familiarity that feels like a warm smile and heartfelt embrace. As a reminder not to get too comfortable here, I am met with a dominant and forceful shunt that we have all experienced as that person in your life who never allows you to stay small. My heels wedge into the ground as my body leans backward in response to the feeling of resistance. And so the dance continues, the back and forward motions that tend to the unraveling that brings the becoming. The risking yet asserting discernment. The freeing of old patterns by allowing my trust in life to remind me of how I stand in courage. A rhythmic flow between polarities softens the rigidity of contraction into a flow of metamorphosis. I catch a glimpse of my zoomed-out perspective and notice that my physical form is larger than it was – an expanding into the vastness and embodiment of life’s offering. An acknowledgment of the calling and being called.

And so I accept the invitation to dance. This is no ordinary dance, the choreography is woven into the story of the stars and the fabric of life itself. The map has only two guidelines; one is to listen through the heart, and the other is to keep moving through. There are a couple of keywords jotted down below this;

deep silence,

re-wilding,

the core of the earth,

surrender.

There is an inner knowing that there will be no paved path on this journey, that getting lost is just as important as staying the course coupled with a reassurance that what is to come will be a series of initiations that change life as it has come to be known.

As I step in, there is an instantaneous disappearance of the gentle pull and dominant push. My body is weightless and being moved by forces outside myself. Fully aware of the magnitude of the spaciousness, free from any framework, I surrender to simultaneously feeling terrified and exhilarated.

Cue the music, let’s dance!

With love and blessings x

The space in between

I sat in Ceremony this weekend; bum on the grass, with the morning sun warming my face. I intended to sit with Mama Cacao as I continue my deep, inward heart-space journey - she has become a sacred ally for me on this journey. Ritualistic practice is a natural expression for me, over the years I have found many ways to include small, powerful practices into my daily life as a way of keeping The Sacred alive and giving back to myself. The flow of the morning morphed into the shape of spontaneous expansion - a fire ceremony and birthday...

Beginnings only ever come from endings

Beginnings only ever come from endings I sat quietly this morning for the first time in 2 weeks, my little boy Noah has been on school holidays and it’s been a busy and social time. After a couple of breaths, I realized how much I longed for this stillness and connection to self. A deep […]

Surrender

This morning i went down to the ocean to swim, an intention I set last night after an incredible healing Kahuna massage with Claire. We arrived and I made my way onto the sand, dropped my stuff, and off to the water with a dash of gusto. The water was a lot colder than I was comfortable with, but I was determined. As I lowered my body into the water  the cold was tinged with an invitation, ‘Come on in, it is here you will find your medicine’. Before long I was fully submerged and I couldn’t help but notice...
