The space in between

I sat in Ceremony this weekend; bum on the grass, with the morning sun warming my face. I intended to sit with Mama Cacao as I continue my deep, inward heart-space journey – she has become a sacred ally for me on this journey. Ritualistic practice is a natural expression for me, over the years I have found many ways to include small, powerful practices into my daily life as a way of keeping The Sacred alive and giving back to myself. The flow of the morning morphed into the shape of spontaneous expansion – a fire ceremony and birthday ritual for Brad who turns 37 tomorrow.

The nature of fire is transformative. It is a ruthless force in transmuting one form into another. The destructive action of burning away is followed by making room for new – a mountain on fire experiences devastation as the flames tear through bushes, shrubs, and trees and yet that same devastation is what allows life to bloom again. Green shoots of hope push through the bareness that is left behind and this teaches us the balance in the energetic exchange of releasing one thing and the calling of something to take its place. My offering to the flame was a solid mass of stored anger, irritation, and defensiveness. It was all old wounding that I had been carrying with me from much earlier on in my life, and it has made itself present to me in physical flare-ups of ailments I haven’t experienced in years. The relief and deep release were instant and very powerful and soon after I experienced a stillness that gently pulsed in the deepest part of my being. It was blissful. I felt seduced by the sense of ease that rose within me and I sat in perfect peace. I sat in the space of in-between, freed of the old but not yet connected to the new with a keen sense of relishing the simplicity of the moment. There were no demands, or need for action. There was nothing for my mind to cling to as the new direction or anywhere for my energy to flow. my entire being was contained within my physical form. This experience is what I can best describe as being fully aware of the potency of possibility – a space for something new to land, all beautifully prepared. All the senses were awake, and the body’s energy build-up grew stronger in potency. This feeling found a home in my solar plexus chakra and fed the courage of my heart space. When the time came to dedicate this freshly prepared landscape for blooming – what I called in was clear, concise, and deeply in alignment with the rawness of trust, surrender, and vulnerability

On your next inhale, pause at the top of this breath. Allow yourself to get curious about your own in-between space. Allow the stillness of this second to wash over the outside of your body. Pull it into the cavern of your heart. Be completely affected by the freedom of nothingness, allowing yourself the power of complete non-action. And then exhale.

With love and blessings x

Surrender

This morning i went down to the ocean to swim, an intention I set last night after an incredible healing Kahuna massage with Claire. We arrived and I made my way onto the sand, dropped my stuff, and off to the water with a dash of gusto. The water was a lot colder than I was comfortable with, but I was determined. As I lowered my body into the water  the cold was tinged with an invitation, ‘Come on in, it is here you will find your medicine’. Before long I was fully submerged and I couldn’t help but notice...

An invitation to dance

I sit in a quiet house with a view of the ocean and gentle music playing next to me. I look down at the flickering wick of the candle which has been lit hundreds of times before. There is a plethora of space around me, what is seemingly different about where I find myself in this moment is that the sense of spaciousness is full - not physically, but rather with an energy that is calling, pulling, and now and then forcefully pushing me along. I close my eyes and I can see the visual of how this exact moment...

Intuition

When I close my eyes, she steps forward. We meet in the stillness, the grounding of my energy, in the space between each conscious breath. She is rooted in deep-knowing; the image of grey hair and soft wrinkles, eyes that carry a sense of hope. She is wise. She is warm. She is home. She knows the intricate complexities that I am made up of and she holds me delicately in understanding and compassion She guides me to all the places I need to go, leading me towards my true authenticity She anchors me to the Great Mother below me...
